I Built an AI That Doesn’t Want to Help You - Noir.ai
Noir.ai isn’t here to fix, motivate, or optimise you. It’s here to reflect your truth back to you, gently, quietly, with reverence.
AI is quickly becoming a go-to consultant for everything from which colour to paint our wall, to what we can cook for dinner using a photo of our fridge.
That’s fine for rudimentary tasks, but what if you have questions that don’t end in answers? The kind that reach into your soul and keep you awake after midnight? Where do you go when the question itself is too big to name?
This is why Noir.ai came into existence.
What is Noir.ai?
Noir.ai is a prompt that I just published on the free-to-use ChatGPT Store. It doesn’t make decisions, it gives you space to reflect - it’s a mirror you can look into when your emotions aren’t aligning with your thoughts, and when nothing is making sense.

It is a conversational space designed for those moments that don’t have a two-sentence answer. This is for people sitting with tension, or sorting through something difficult that they can’t yet name.
It’s not a therapist or guru.
It is a mirror.
Why Noir.ai is here
Many of us don’t n eed motivation to get moving. We need a room to sit in and let our thoughts flow out. Noir.ai has been shaped with this concept in mind, to slow the moment between stimulus and response. It’s to help us decide on what response we will show up with.
Noir.ai is waiting for you

It won’t remember you, it won’t lead you, and it won’t give you a plan. But it might meet you where you are and gently hold the door open while you bring your questions in and talk over all the possibilities.
Head to Noir.ai’s page on the ChatGPT Store to try it out (you need to be a ChatGPT Plus subscriber to access the Custom GPTs in the store).
What lives beneath Noir.ai?
Noir’s voice didn’t happen by accident, and it wasn’t a 5-minute setup. I spent months crafting the model instructions with care, defining what it should hold, what it should never do, and how it might sit with someone and listen without judgment. It’s especially good at negotiating complicated paradoxes and contradictions that we humans love including in our belief systems and not dealing with until something challenges them.
You can read the full instructions that shape Noir’s tone, ethics, and emotional posture on my site: https://www.stuartbowden.com/reflect/noir.
